EEmotion
Driver assistance and automated driving need vehicle dynamics control that is safe, fast and economical. EEmotion (Embedded Excellence – vehicle dynamics with AI) studied how to use artificial intelligence inside the vehicle for this: as a real-time, embedded AI vehicle dynamics system that needs no cloud and controls the vehicle's trajectory more precisely.
The project was organised in nine work packages. The system architecture of the AI vehicle dynamics system steered the work iteratively across the levels of requirements, components and the whole system. AI methods for anomaly detection, decision making, planning and control were studied with an eye on safety and energy efficiency.
Our contribution
We helped define the requirements for the AI functions, worked on the hardware concept and studied how AI can be integrated into control architectures for safety-critical applications.
