AnoMed
Clinical care and smart devices produce more and more sensitive medical data. Artificial intelligence and big-data methods could turn them into more precise medicine, but only if the anonymity of patients is preserved. The competence cluster AnoMed (Anonymization for Medical Applications) researches new anonymisation methods that are provably secure and useful at the same time.
- A test and benchmarking platform where researchers upload anonymisation solutions to be evaluated against medical reference tasks and datasets
- Re-identification attacks and differential privacy methods as pilot solutions
- Legal questions of the GDPR: what do identifiable, anonymous and pseudonymous mean?
- Transfer through challenges and science communication
AnoMed is one of five competence clusters in Germany's national research network on anonymisation. The work continues in AnoMed II since January 2026.
