Modern Computing
Computers are everywhere today, and they keep getting more versatile. In April 1945 John von Neumann finished the First Draft of a Report on the EDVAC, the founding document of modern computing. His idea of keeping programs and data in the same memory still shapes computers today. Our question: what does the computer after von Neumann look like?
What we work on
- Embedded systems inside cars, machines and medical devices
- Digital circuits, from the processor to the chip
- Dependable and secure computers
- Post-Moore computing: new architectures for the time after miniaturisation
A special focus is on artificial intelligence and neural networks that run efficiently and trustworthily on their own hardware.
