ChronoPilot: Modulating Human Subjective Time Experience

In ChronoPilot we develop an autonomous distributed system to change the subjective time perception in human groups.

ChronoPilot is an EU-funded H2020 FET-Open 4-year project that started in 09/2021.

main objectives and features of the project:

  • Time is among the key factors in human life, yet it is a remarkably subjective experience.
  • Time feels compressed when we cannot manage our workload, which can lead to stress.
  • mental health is a growing concern in nearly all developed information-rich countries
  • In other cases, people carry out tasks that only occasionally require attention. Time then might feel stretched, and we are bored, yielding the danger of attentional lapses and depression in the long run.
  • However, when the load is properly balanced, we are able to focus attention and experience sensations of immersion and flow.
