Research Areas

The Institute of Computer Engineering of the University of Lübeck (Director: Prof. Dr.-Ing. Mladen Berekovic) is composed of three research groups:

• Research Group 1: Computer Architecture, Embedded Systems, and Hardware Design led by Prof. Dr.-Ing. Mladen Berekovic.
• Research Group 2: Trustworthiness led by Dr.-Ing. Saleh Mulhem.
• Research Group 3: Mobile Robotics led by Prof. Dr.-Ing. Erik Maehle.   

Research focuses mainly on mobile autonomous robots, cyber- physical systems, edge and cloud computing, Trustworthy Electronics,  Security by Design, and integrated circuits in the form of SoCs (System-on-Chip). As part of these activities, we are working on various application related domains such as transportation, health, automotive, and manufacturing. We are closely collaborate with many industrial companies in Germany and Europe such as Infineon, DSI, Trinamic, NXP, and with public bodies. RISE is a partner in ARTEMIS and ECSEL.
