Sommersemester 2024

Real Time Systems

Real-time systems are computing systems that have to comply with more or less hard time conditions. Such systems are used, among other things, in industrial process automation, in vehicles, especially cars, or multimedia and telematics systems. As a rule, these are embedded systems, which today account for more than 90% of all computers. The lecture covers the basics of real-time processing, hardware platforms and real-time software. Furthermore, the modeling of discrete-time, continuous-time and hybrid systems is considered and typical application examples are presented. The focus is on automation technology, in particular the control and regulation of technical processes.
