Short Bio

Dipl.-Ing. Patrick Weiss is a Ph.D. student at the Institute of Computer Engineering at the University of Lübeck. He is also affiliated with the Graduate School for Computing in Medicine and Life Sciences, which was established within the framework of the Excellence Initiative of the German federal and state governments.

He studied mechanical engineering with specialization into medical engineering at the RWTH Aachen University, where he graduated in 2010. Within his studies he carried out an internship at Nanyang Technological University (NTU) Singapore at the Computer Integrated Medical Intervention Laboratory implementing speech recognition into a prostate biopsy robot.

Patrick Weiss current research interest is on rehabilitation robotics, in particular, systems for training of hand function focusing on inexpensive systems that are feasible for home rehabilitation.
